Digital Historytelling

Interactive tools, games and lesson plans

Digital Historytelling (DigHist) is an innovative project designed to enhance the teaching of 20th-century European history and civic education through digital tools. By integrating storytelling with digital media, DigHist offers educators engaging resources to captivate students and deepen their understanding of historical events.

The project provides ready-to-use class scenarios on pivotal topics such as the Cold War, Totalitarianism & Democratization, and Colonial History. Each scenario includes a digital timeline presenting a cohesive European narrative, an educational game to reinforce learning, and a comprehensive teacher's manual with implementation guidelines.

To support educators in creating their own digital narratives, DigHist offers a specialized course. This program guides teachers through the process of developing digital storytelling content, utilizing various tools and multimedia elements to enrich their instructional practices and foster active student engagement.

DigHist aims to modernize history education by making it more interactive and accessible for students aged 12 to 16.
