About
Smilemundo began in 2011 in Barcelona with a desire to channel our passions, technological knowledge and creativity in the development of educational tools that promote social change.
We work from the ground up with every concept. Beginning with the initial idea, through content creation, graphic design, then production, testing and ending with the implementation. We enjoy working with other like-minded organizations and joining forces to create a greater social impact.

Our Team

Aleksandra Zemke
Founder
Aleksandra founded Smilemundo in 2011 and has been leading the organization ever since. When she’s not busy planning or managing projects, you’ll find her designing games and educational tools, creating new methodologies, or running trainings. She’s passionate about creativity, loves working as a trainer and public speaker, and has a bit of an obsession with cities and local communities.

Judit Alcaide Saz
Project coordinator
Judit is Smilemundo’s project coordinator, ensuring each project resonates with the local context. She also leads the organization’s communications and contributes to the game design process. Passionate about storytelling as a catalyst for social change, she explores narratives that inspire action. Outside the NGO, she is the founder and editor of Mimethic,, an independent editorial project.

Matylda Zawadzka
Leading designer
Matylda is Smilemundo’s leading designer, bringing her background as a graphic designer, illustrator, animator, and sociologist into every project. She shapes the visual identity of the organization’s work and contributes to game design and methodology development. She loves creating minimalistic solutions that meet real needs. Outside of work, Matylda is constantly exploring creativity — she paints, illustrates, does ceramics, and lately has been diving into carpentry.

Paulina Maslona
Researcher, UX, educational designer
Paulina is a researcher with experience in ethnographic and UX research, always looking for insights in unexpected places. She’s also involved in designing tools that make our projects more interactive and meaningful. Outside of the NGO, she works as a journalist, writing about social issues for the press. She’s also an animal lover and devoted companion to her dog.
